WIRED Innovation: Health Care Regional Skills Alliance
Innovation Champion: Craig Nobbelin
Through the Health Care Regional Skills Alliance (RSA) Innovation, WIRED West Michigan is forming a broadly representative, regional collaboration of three important sectors: workforce development boards, education institutions and health care employers.
The RSA was established to develop a long-term approach to continually attract and retain workers to the health care field. The RSA is working to ensure students, displaced and incumbent workers, and entry-level job seeks have effective access to entry-level health care occupations and the training that is necessary for this occupations.
The RSA has established a region-wide Health Care Employer’s Council to fully vet the employment needs of each local health institution and then define the needs of the region. Under the guidance of this counsel, the RSA is working to develop a health care career training program called First Career Coaching (FC3) that will provide the training and guidance individuals need to transition into successful health care occupations.
