WIRED Innovation: Innovation Curriculum

Innovation Champion: Liz McCormick

Through the aptly named Innovation Curriculum, WIRED West Michigan has jumped to the forefront of the emerging discussion on innovation literacy and learning.

The Innovation Curriculum effort is just as it sounds: the development of a curriculum to teach the skills most relevant to innovation. The approach uses an array of learning activities focused on “whole-brain” engagement.

The funding from the WIRED grant allowed Innovation Curriculum team to develop and pilot three learning modules: synthesis, iteration and self-reflection.

Each learning module is primarily technology-based, but incorporates a number of activities such as video, animated/interactive tasks, writing and field activities in order to teach the whole-brain model.
